Climate change discussions in many topics

Based on remarks from Karina Peggau

Philosophers and Religion Professors:  Are we called to civic action in

life, and around climate action at this moment? How can scriptures and

congregations safeguard the health of all Creation? How do personal values

influence our climate activism?

Economists:  How would you think about climate solutions proposals from a

benefit-cost perspective? What techniques can be used to develop cost-effective

climate policies?

Political Scientists and Sociologists: What are the opportunities and challenges

facing political change driven by citizen action? How does citizen response to

climate change differ around the world?

Business Professors:  Is there a case for private sector leadership in the

proposals? What techniques can be used to develop a climate-friendly business

model?

Art Professors: How can art inspire activism for climate justice?

Scientists:  Develop and discuss problem sets to explore the chemistry, physics,

biology or engineering of climate change, proposed climate solutions and

disproportionate impacts of climate change on those least responsible for carbon emissions.

Psychologists:  Discuss climate change anxiety or denial and the relation to

activism. How is climate change affecting youth’s mental health? What are the

needs for research on climate change and mental health? How does personal

experience with extreme climate events influence climate sentiment and

activism?

Mathematicians:   What are the major tools mathematics use to probe climate

issues?

Literature and Communication Professors:  How do we think about the

prevalence of apocalyptic vision in film and literature? How is climate change

communicated across nations, and how has climate communication evolved over

time?

Language Professors: What is happening internationally on climate solutions?

How can linguistics and text be used to improve knowledge of climate change

and influence societal and political action?

Music Professors: How can music be used to portray climate change and

extreme weather events? What techniques have historically been used to

capture natural processes and the human interaction with nature? What role

does music play in activism?
