Colleagues in Climate Action and Sustainability,

Below please find this week’s lists of events, reports, peer-reviewed studies, news and commentary, and podcasts

Included are advance notices for all- and multi-day events next week at National Academies and Center for Global Development; for three-day events hosted this week by National Academies and by DC Area Educators for Social Justice; and for 46 shorter events spread across the city and the coming days. American, George Washington, and Georgetown are featured, in yellow highlights, in the current events; researchers at George Mason co-authored the highlighted report.

Our worsening predicament is perhaps best summed up by the piece of commentary from Atmos: “to preserve our planet, we must also preserve our democracy.”

With apologies for adding a further chill to an already cold weekend,

Michael

P.S. If you would like to offer advance notice of an upcoming event at your institution, just include the necessary details and links in a reply to this email.
